After two years since the disappearance of Jean-Louis Desrosiers the Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) is reaching out to the public once again in the hopes of gathering new information that would allow the investigation to progress and hopefully to locate Desrosiers.
Desrosiers was last seen on August 18, 2020. He was last seen leaving his residence in the Carrefour-de-l'Hôpital district, in the Gatineau sector, to go shopping. He was in his vehicle, a dark grey 2009 Hyundai Elantra. The car has a Quebec licence plate marked Y54 KPQ. At the time of his disappearance there was a decorative Quebec Knights of Columbus plaque affixed to the front of the vehicle.
Desrosiers was 79 years of age at the time of his disappearance. He is a white man that is 5ft 6in tall. He has brown eyes and speaks french. When he disappeared he had short white hair and a moustache. Desrosiers also has a scar on top of his left hand.
Residents are encouraged to think back to the time of his disappearance and keep an eye out going forward. The SPVG says that every piece of information counts, even a vague memory or detail can be used in the investigation.
The SPVG says that residents should take particular care when travelling in the woods of the region as Desrosiers could be found there.
