Outaouais Community Celebrates Remarkable Success of "Tourtière" Project by L'Amicale

The Association of Physically Disabled People of Outaouais, known as L’Amicale, has recently expressed heartfelt gratitude towards the dedicated team behind the successful “Tourtière” project. Spearheaded by the association's president, Louis St-Cyr, the initiative has remarkably raised over $12,000 this year.
In a remarkable display of community spirit and dedication, 33 volunteers collectively contributed an impressive 868 hours over 39 days to cook an astounding 1,556 cakes. The culinary endeavor required substantial resources, including 1,928 pounds of meat, 200 pounds of onions, 502 pounds of flour, and 119 pounds of lentils.
The project's success is attributed to the unwavering commitment and skillful management of the volunteers, led by Louis St-Cyr, praised for his exceptional project management skills, and Martin, the chief chef of the project. The team, including Jean, Lyne, Michel Pa., Louise, Bob, Danielle, Andre, Suzanne, Marcelin, Suzanne, Michel Pé., Agatha, Bern, Marcel, Francine, Coco, Jacques, Yolaine, Carmen, Claude, Bernise, Helen, Sylvie, Charlie, Richard, Paul, Denis, Isabelle, Melanie, Luc, and Chantal, has been lauded for their tireless efforts and dedication to the cause.
A special mention was made of Marc Gervais and IGA Famille Charles for their significant contribution to the project's success. They played a crucial role in distributing the cakes through their branches in Gatineau, Cantley, and Chelsea, ensuring wider community engagement and support for the cause.
This initiative not only highlights the power of community collaboration but also underscores t L’Amicale's commitment to making a meaningful impact. The funds raised through this project will significantly aid in the association's ongoing efforts to support and empower physically disabled individuals in the Outaouais region. The Association and all involved have extended a big thank you to everyone who supported this initiative, demonstrating the strength and compassion of the Outaouais community.
