A distillery has joined the group of businesses that make up Old Chelsea Square. Distillerie du Square is the only distillery in MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais, and the second distillery in the Outaouais. It is located at 248 Old Chelsea.
The business opened on December 7th, and following the opening they hosted media events, and a grand opening gathering.
Distillerie du Square’s unique offerings of local and nature-inspired spirits has many eager to try their menu. The distillery will also include a boutique with a selection of spirits, mixology accessories, various lifestyle items and clothing. The site includes a private room that can be reserved for office parties and other gatherings.
Guided tours are available by reservation via their website. These tours will include a guided walk-through of the ecomuseum, and their production room as well as a tasting giving participants the opportunity to learn about the history of local spirits as well as discovering new products.
Some of their products include Gin du Jardin, a gin made in collaboration with another Quebec distillery, Distillerie Ubald. The gin was invented by Distillerie du Square’s distiller Pier-Luc Roussel. Bella Ciao! Aperitivo is another one of their flagship products. It combines notes of blood orange, gentian root, cardamom, star anise, juniper berry and more.
“A huge thank you to everyone who worked on this project. The construction team, all our professionals, the public authorities and creditors who believed in us, our in-house team,” said Manuela Teixeira, businesswoman and owner of Distillerie du Square.
