On March 17, the Council of Mayors nominated Mallette as Director of Public Security of the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais starting May 30 for a period of five years. Mallette will be replacing Yves Charette who is leaving after five years of service.
“I am very pleased with the confidence that the MRC's Council of Mayors has placed in me with this appointment, and it is with great pride and humility that I welcome it,” said Mallette.
Mallette has more than 25 years’ experience in the Montreal Police Department, 10 of which were in management positions. According to the MRC des Collines, the new director of public security has a history of establishing collaboration with the community and partners.
The MRC des Collines states that Mallette’s work centres the impact that the police service has in a community and the ethical management and understanding of social issues.
“We are pleased to welcome Mr Mallette to the MRC des Collines. He will undoubtedly be able to continue the work done by his predecessor,” said Marc Carrière, warden of the MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais, “that is, to have a police service that is close to its community and that has the protection of its citizens at heart.”
