In the spirit of Francofête, Impératif français has announced the winners of the Prix Prestige Impératif français 2023, awarded to two great personalities from Quebec, Ingrid St-Pierre and Boucar Diouf. The award recognizes their remarkable contributions to the artistic and cultural heritage of Quebec, and their exceptional representation of the Francophonie. Ingrid St-Pierre, a singer-songwriter, has produced several albums, the latest being a feminist, intimate album, Reines, which pays tribute to the women in her life.
The album is imbued with tenderness and poetic melodies that highlight her sensitivity. The album pays tribute to women of all eras and is universal in all spheres of humanity. St-Pierre's music is of great beauty and enriches the musical heritage of Quebec.
Boucar Diouf is a Senegalese-born oceanographer who came to Quebec to do his doctorate in oceanography. He discovered his passion for comedy while teaching biology with a touch of humor. He has been enchanting his listeners, readers, and audiences as a comedian, host, author, and columnist in the media for the past fifteen years. He approaches sometimes delicate subjects with good-naturedness and humanism and prompts reflection. He is an excellent ambassador for Quebec and the Francophonie. He has presented several comedy shows in all regions of Quebec and in the Canadian Francophonie and has published eleven books. Diouf has received several prizes and distinctions, including being made a Knight of the National Order of Quebec in 2016 and receiving the Medal of Honor from the National Assembly of Quebec in 2019.
Impératif français's Prix Prestige Impératif français 2023 recognizes the contributions of these two exceptional personalities to the cultural and artistic heritage of Quebec. The award is timely, coming as it does during Francofête, with the approach of the International Day of La Francophonie on March 20 and on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of Impératif français. The award highlights the remarkable contributions of St-Pierre and Diouf, their exceptional representation of Quebec, and their unique role in enriching the Francophonie.
Ingrid St-Pierre's music and Boucar Diouf's comedy are excellent representations of the cultural and artistic diversity of Quebec. Their work is a testament to the richness of the Francophonie and the vital role that Quebec plays in promoting French language and culture.
The Prix Prestige Impératif français 2023 is a well-deserved recognition of their exceptional contributions and their continued efforts to promote the values of the Francophonie.
