The Early Childhood Education (CPE) L’univers des Bambinos, Luskville installation, celebrated their 25th anniversary. Their event gathered over 90 educators, parents, and children on October 4th. The event consisted of a 45-minute music show by Junkyard Johnny Symphony. They then presented photos and news articles from the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th anniversaries. They also did a balloon send off to mark the milestone.
“We are proud of how we have incorporated nature in our pedagogy in the past few years,” said Diane Daigle, assistant director at CPE L'univers des Bambinos. “The kids have a lot of time outside and we organize many activities for them in nature. We have hens that the kids feed every day, we made a vegetable garden with the kids. In the spring we make maple syrup because we have a lot of maples near us.” Daigle also highlights their collaboration with local businesses who provide them with vegetables in the summer and who have helped organize various outings for the children.
Daigle highlights that in order for these programs to continue they need more support from the Ministry of education to be able to get more staff and increase educators' salaries.
