Gatineau Police looking to identify Sport complex thief

The Service de Police de la Ville de Gatineau (SPVG) are requesting help from citizens to identify a thief that has been spotted stealing from two Gatineau sports complexes. On August 16, the suspect went to the Branchaud-Brière Complex in Gatineau and the Paul-Pelletier Aquatic Center in Aylmer with the intention of stealing objects that belonged to those utilizing the facility. The suspect entered the changing rooms and stole various items including car keys, jewelry, identity cards and bank cards. The items were stolen from four separate victims.
After stealing the items the suspect committed identity fraud by carrying out bank transactions. The total value of losses from the crime is estimated at $20,000. The Gatineau Police are still investigating.
The suspect is a white male with an athletic build and is tall. At the time of offense he was wearing a dark colored baseball hat, a white long sleeve shirt with orange stripes along the arms, black pants, and white and gray sneakers. He was also carrying a dark-colored shoulder bag. He was seen with a dark colored SUV.
The SPVG encourages anyone with information that could identify the suspect and/or his vehicle to contact the info line at 819 243-4636, option 5.
