The Centre Wakefield La Pêche community centre, located at 38 Chemin Valley, is 10 years old and started celebrating the achievement during the last weekend of April. The celebrations will continue over the weekend, with the Gala on Friday, May 6 from 6 pm to 10 pm and the Open House and Open Mic taking place on May 7 from 10 am to 10 pm.
The Gala is hosted by Elizabeth Logue and will have stories performed and local musical guests such as Mathew Falvia, Paul Hampsey and local group PATOMAT. There will also be performance skits by the Wakefield Theatre, trivia and a tenth anniversary video.
The Open House/Open Mic event on May 7 will include a chili dinner, a talent show in the evening, and other performances.

The centre's mission is to create a community centre along with a green space in the Gatineau Hills that welcomes all members of the community. It was founded in 2011 by four organizations, Theatre Wakefield, Wakefield Activities for Youth, Wakefield Library and Wakefield Recreation Association.
The centre is run by a not-for-profit co-operative organization and welcomes residents from all areas of the La Pêche municipality, such as Lac des Loups, Masham, Wakefield, and Chelsea.
The Wakefield La Pêche centre organizes many community events through their member organizations, such as library events, festivals, theater performances, markets, day camps, and sporting events, among others.
